The Point of the 2nd Amendment
From the Declaration of the Independence:
How could we accomplish that if the right of the people to keep and bear arms is infringed?
Five to four. It was that close.

Who am I?
Who am I and why should you keep up with my blog? Good question. I am no one and maybe I have nothing noteworthy to say. But then again, I might.
You see, I’m a pastor….whoa wait! I know what you’re thinking. Dull. Boring. Sermons and homilies (for you catholics out there), polyester and ties from the ’70s.
Nope. Not this guy.
Yeah, I’m called to be a spokesman. God wants me to minister. But that doesn’t mean that I have to perpetuate religion. God is real and I want to point people to Him. Not some go-through-the-motion-so-I-can-feel-good-about-me religion. So it may just be that I will write something that could be, well, controversial. I will surely write something that is “non-orthodox”.
And you, you’re sick of religion. If you’re not, you should be. God isn’t about religion. He’s about life. Are you living? Would you like a new life?
My name is Cliff…Come join the FAITH REVOLUTION!

Come one you chickens…….someone leave a comment! LOL!
Oh geez, I’ll bite……been looking for a Dennis Miller quote and can’t find it. Now. Let me say this is not my opinion. I’m just curious as to how you would respond. He basically said that when our founding fathers wrote this they were thinking in terms of black powder shot guns and not the sophisticated weaponry of today.
Now to quote O’Reilly……what say you?
That is a rather illogical argument since black powder was the most sophisticated weaponry of that time. To make a logical comparison, I would have to have some nukes in the basement and a stealth fighter in my back yard. I don’t. But I think that it was the intent of the fathers to keep the citizens of individual states and the states themselves armed in order to keep the federal government in check.
You have to understand that initially we were set up as a republic of free and independent states. As such, individuals were citizens of their state first and foremost and then the state was part of the union. The 13th amendment, which some claim was not properly ratified, made everyone citizens of the United States of America in stead of, or along with, thier state residency. Constitutionally, the only jurisdiction that the federal government should have is over DC and non-state territories. Power is (should be) vested in the people and in the individual states. So maybe states and individuals should be as well armed as the federal govt. —using the logic of Dennis Miller’s argument.
RIGHT ON CLIFF
An update has politely been requested by the Golden Girls…….LOL.
